A Conscious creative with an eye on the bigger picture.
Slightly obsessed with research, process, and strategy.
Self-proclaimed nerd.
Bookworm and publication hoarder.
Classically-trained violist + pianist.
Obsessive music finder + collector.
I’m very interested in addressing problems in a bigger picture, holistic sort of way, instead of just one aspect and/or the here and now. In my creative process, I tend to ask “why?” (over and over) and thus I strive to base my design decisions on research or some sort of substantiated data. While I’ve always done informal research, I’ve recently been introduced to design anthropology and using ethnographic techniques to observe human behavior. I would love to further develop in this area.
My ultimate goal is to improve upon and create innovative, human-centered services and experiences in healthcare, social services, and other areas of the public sector.
Not only that, but I am a relentless supporter of promoting design to youth, especially those from communities of color, and those disenfranchised and disadvantaged. I believe this would be not only beneficial to them, but to their communities as well to teach them this thought process, nurture their growth in the arts and give them the tools they need to one day solve the problems they are faced with on a daily basis.
